Hi Acer

Does Anyone From Acer Ever Read These Forums? With all the wi-fi problems, thottle problems, and people also asking about the Keyboard case, you would at least think someone from the Acer Company would respond. Even if they would just say hello, we are working on it or something, that would be better than nothing. I have a few days left to return My W700, and I'm thinking about doing it just because of the bad support. Please Acer, at least say something.

I agree with you that it would make more sense if Acer communicated more on these forums. Unfortunately, this is probably the way of the future. I have purchased numerous Apple products and Apple was as bad. Problems would be discussed on their forums and they would never acknowledge them. Suddenly a new release would come out that would fix the problem that they never admitted. I was told that they are afraid to say much as the various bloggers etc could miss quote them. Anyway, don't really know the reason but this is not just an Acer problem - most companies seem to have gone this way.

On a positive note I just got my W700 today with a dock and and the new keyboard cover. Acer never promossed this when I asked so they over delivered here and I'm very happy. BTW, the new keyboard cover has a very thin keyboard stuck to the cover and I assume they are one unit. By that I mean you would buy them both together

Have no doubt they monitor these forum just have to be careful what they say. Do notice the Beta test period for the W510 seems about over, most posts are on other things now.

Well, at least they offer us forums. Other than Sony and Dell, I didn't notice any other major manufacturer (with competitive tablets to the W700 at least) with forums at all; Sony's forums were divided into very specific subsets which would have made posts like what we see here hard to categorize. Dell doesn't offer space specific to tablets, and we all kow their customer service is abysmal in every form. Honestly, be glad you have an open, easy to use forum to express your concerns on.

While I can't say I agree with how Acer is handling the forums (there should be more replies), I don't expect customer service from any manufacturer to be stellar, because, in my experience, it has all been terrible (especially Dell).

I'd say just be patient, and keep trying. Maybe I just got lucky when I got my WIFI drivers fixed, even though I managed to help my friend with his tablet, too. He has a 6607, I have the 6465.

The only real issue after that is the i5 throttling issue, which Acer may consider to be working as intended for the sake of battery life and temps. I can respect that. However, their BIOS should be more open for power users, but complicated enough to deter people who would ruin their tablet.

I'd hang on to the device, especially considering that every tablet seems to be having its respective complaints, whilst being more expensive than the W700, and, in my opinion, inferior options.

Personally will wait for the "Bay Trail" beta which I would expect 3Q13. Notice that the current crop of "Clover Trail" packages all have the same features, seems to be more badge engineering than any real difference.

Once upon a time, Pontiac was the "lead" division for GM with things like body colored bumpers and Head's Up displays long before other divisions. Wonder if Acer is in that role now.

Well ive noticed they come sometimes to say something that resumes in : "thats normal", "it works as intended", "i will report the issue", and other stuff along those lines, oh and they also like to give links sometimes. -_-
