Aspire E1-410 - Windows boot page menu doesnt work - no mouse or keyboard function

The problem is, when I come to the first/welcome page of Windows boot option, I just cant select any of the options. It sounds absurd but niether my keyboard OR my mouse works (they are both fine, I am using both right now). I cant choose the windows version/language or anything shown on that page. There is no mouse pointer and no direction key or tab key works. I cant even press 'enter' key.

I am using Windows 8.0 both as USB FDD and DVD for installation. I have bot UFEI and Legacy mode options in the bios boot menu (though some users said they didnt have Legacy, I dont know how but I do). UFEI fails to show both USB FDD and DVD as a boot option (bios boot option set is double checked, they were in place 1 by turn). Legacy mode allows acces to USB FDD and DVD boot option from F12 boot menu. When the first windows boot page opens with 3 options boxes (dont exactly remember what they were) to set, I cant change OR select any of them as I cant move my mouse OR my keyboard.

Plz help. My windos has been corrupted or something and its working at a pitiable speed. I cant even open a new folder without waiting for a few seconds. Chrome/Firefox doesnt open pages, not even email accs. Movies get stuck while playing. Plz Plz help.

Disconnect from the mains (remove AC adapter), remove the battery, press power button for 20-30 secs, leave the laptop to rest for a while, put the battery back, re-connect the mains and boot the laptop. See how it changes the behaviour and post back.
