after doing a full recovery with Acer Discs I get \bcd  error code 0xc0000034 error  system bios v2.0  GOP version 6.0.1032

I can not fix it with a windows boot disc in recovery nor can I install windows 8 as it refuses to update boot configuration.

Any suggestions?

Tried rebuildrec it fails with a device error, repair and reinstall fresh failed with unable to update configuration. Its as if the secure boot will not reset or let it write to bcd with or with or without secure boot enabled or disabled.

It is possible that you have an actual hardware error with the SSD... Smiley Sad

Well it seems after contacting Acer support in India they, with out any attemp at technical help, want me to send  $249 + tax inorder to have them "fix" my slightly out of warranty unit. It seems to me one of 2 things, A. this is a known problem and them have a quailty control issue to which they don't want to own. B. they do not have a tech support department and view all problems as income. This whole affair leaves me with a bad taste for Acer as a company. We as consumers have many choices and often times the company's support or lack of support helps us choose where to spend our money. Acers poor customer support has helped me decide where not to spend in the future.

    Montebond,

Sorry for the problems you are experiencing. Would it be possible for you to send me a private message with your serial number, name and email address, so I can see if I am able to offer any better service options for you?
