hi did anyone find a working resolution for this, i was upgrading my w500 to windows 8 via usb, all legal software, no dual boot, all standard, just upgrading to win 8. it halted during this proccess and would not restart, i have tried everything, reformated and cloned the hard drive as i have two of these tablets, when its powered on just black screen and windows key lights up, cannot get access to bios at all, when i previously could, i suspect its the bios chip thats corrupt, yes its out of warranty :-( , only answer i got from acer is that i can pay to have it repaired, surely this has been an on going issue for so long, its most definetly a known issue, possibly even due to fauly bios chips, acer should be doing more to help, at least when your xbox gets the ring of death microsoft still fix it up to 2 years after warranty is run out as its a known issue, my tablet was never modded was just a simple windows upgrade and i seem to have lost my tablet, that shouldnt happen.

just a shame they havent chose to post any reply, are you not allowed to say you arent happy with the customer service they provide or is it just that they wont allow it on this site

This is a peer to peer support forum. If you need assistance or input from Acer, you need to contact them directly.  Occasionally employees will post here on their own time but they are not obligated to do so, and Acer does not check these boards for technical or service issues.

Any input on Acer products and services is acceptable content, as long s it is made in a respectful and courteous manner.

i have emailed Acer and i did contact them via chat earlier and the acer advisor told me to contact out of warranty repairs and while i was typing back, they ended the conversation, so in my opinion that wasnt good customer service or as you say very respectfull or courteous

That could very well have been a technical issue with the call cut off. Please try them again.
