Acer Aspire V3-571G Recovery disc issue UEFI & Legasy Bios errors!!!!

I purchased a laptop which was refurbished, after booting the laptop for the first time i realised that i windows 8.1 had not been activated. I contacted the supplier who informed me there was no activation key as it was integrated with the motherboard.

To cut a long story short i ended up getting the recovery cds from acer which i received today, after loading the recovery disc it failed to start as i got the error 'Recovery failed, please use UEFI mode to recover' . So i logged into the bios and changed the mode from Legacy bios to UFEI. This got me a few steps further (selecting language) on the recorvery but when i actually click the recover option to begin the process i get the error 'Please load in Legasy Bios to recover'

Spoke to acer they said i need to send it into them because there is a problem with the bios, just wondering if there is any solution that i can get this done myself without sending it off and waiting god knows how long for it to be returned?

Cheers.

    Hi,

I'm happy to say that I have solved this same issue of Aspire P3-171 today itself. Problem is in the HDD partition table. To do so you must delete the all partitions by using Windows DVD or third party partitioning software ( !!ALL DATA IN YOUR HARD DISK WILL BE DELETED IN THIS PROCESS), Don't create any partition , just make it unallocated. Now set your BIOS into Factory default and boot with your recovery medias. Sure you can solve the issue.

Please give me your feed back .

    Thanks & ALL TheBest
