Acer Aspire V3-571 keeps shutting down

Hi - my 1.5 year old V3-571 is having serious power issues. It seems to randomly shut down without warning as if it loses power. This can be either when plugged into the mains or when powered by battery.

I have replaced the power button ribbon cable, as well as the internal DC power to motherboard cable and no difference.

A few months ago a warning message came up about an issue with the battery, so I got a new battery.

I think this issue started around that time and has got progressively worse (ie it shuts down within 5-10 mins of being turned on...

Since taking the thing apart there is also a hell of a lot less dust in the thing too.

After replacing the power button ribbon cable it seems to imprive for a while, eg the thing would stay powered up for an hour or two.

Also, it will switch off whilst on mains power if the power cable is removed from the socket (even if battery in and charged) It also seems to be triggered by movement which leads me to believe there is a connection problem somewhere along the line.

Are there any cheap fixes that could potentially solve this, or is the thing at the end of its short lifetime...?

CPU likely overheating due either to the dust bunnies or cooling fan problems. It'll shut down if this is happening particularly for CPU intensive tasks or gaming. You don't have to take it apart again to really clean it out.  I suggest simply vacuuming the air intake port with a fairly strong shop-vac. And use the shop-vac exhaust to blow into the laptop's exhaust port. Report back on results.

    Thanks

I had the same issue like yours after 2 months into research i have found out the motherboard i bought from ebay even thought it states it will work on a v3-571 laptop it didnt, well only for 30mins until power off. i went threw 3 motherboard to found out that the board i been buying doesnt not support the i3 CPU and at exactly 30min it will shut off. no matter what u tried it will still shut off at exactly 30min. The only things i done differntly now is i had tried a lower end cpu from an acer E1-531 model and it works for more than over 30min. Tested for days and no 30min shut off. The cpu that i was using is a Intel B960 2.2ghz. I Pretty sure this will sovle your problem. I also have tried bios swap from the old motherboard which has no power and notice both of the bios are diffent setup and did not work so i had to put back the original bios back.
