Touchpad Scroll driver for E1-571

Hi!

I changed my Acer's hard drive. As a result, the default factory settings and drivers for the laptop were deleted. I have downloaded all the drivers necessary, however my touch pad's scroll does not function anymore. I just want to ask what is the name of the driver for the touch pad that can enable the scroll function.

Also where can I view the installed driver for my touch pad?

Thanks!

    Hello DaisyrieMD,

You can see the installed driver in Device manager (example):

    - Click on Start

    - Type the command mmc devmgmt.msc in Search box

    - Double click on  "Mice and other pointing devices" --> double click on "Elan PS/2 Port Smart-Pad" --> Driver tab.

    You have two brands touchpads:

    hi..

You can also restore the same driver and application that was shipped from factory using Acer Recovery Management

Reinstall Drivers with Acer Recovery Management in Windows 8

Reinstall drivers with Acer Recovery Management in Windows 7

Hi! I have Synaptics 15.3.41.5 installed. But I don't find any options that can enable the scroll function.

Hello! I got a solution for you! You cannot recover your notebook back to the factory condition if you Upgraded your Hard Drive. Because That utility is working with the Hidden recovery partition comes with the factory HDD and your Newer HDD doesn't have that. Oky, but try the following method:

    1) Go to the system tray and right click on the "synaptics device settings" icon. Then select touch pad properties.

    2) You will see "Scrolling" option in the left pain. Tick it and hit the "settings" buttion next to it. (same line, gears icon)

Do The above steps, "apply" it and you are done Smiley Happy

Hit "Kudos" button If my answer helped to solve your issue.

    Have a nice day!

This is a screen shot for my Synaptics Properties. Can't really find where to configure the touch scroll function. Where and how?

    Hello DaisyrieMD,

I guess the right picture appears when you click on settings button.

Could you expand the Overview and Buttons and post a screen copy?

First at all, Make sure your notebook has a Synaptics Touchpad. If it has ELANTECH Touchpad and you installed Synaptics drivers, It won't be functional.

Need to know the hardware on your system to choose the right drivers?

Run the above tool. It will let you know which brands do you have for certain hardware. Then go to the driver downloads page and download the correct driver. DON't forget to select your O/S with the architecture from the dropdown menu.
