When you launch your Touchportal right click the Sound Icon in your system tray and click on Open Volume Mixer. Volume Mixer gives you control of all your sound on the different programs running. I would suggest making sure the are all at their max setting as the volume control for Touchportal could be minimzed or muted.

If that still does not work, then the only other suggestion would be trying to restore the system to its factory settings. This would fix any registery issues that could be causing the problem. I know this is not the idea fix but from your troubleshooting steps and what I can think of that is the only other option at this point.

Thanks for the reply and the information that helped me resolve the issue.Smiley Happy

You absolutely right,it was the touchportal volume in the volume mxer that was at lowest!

I had no idea ,that the touchportal had its own volume mixer which only opens when you start touchportal.

My speakers volume were on maximum and all else had sound ,thats why I thought something wrong with touchportal as I couldnt see any more volume settings .Now I know that once your open touchportal ,you can adjust its sound settings.

Thank you sir, keep up the good work.

    Cheers

I am glad to hear that’s what the problem was and you’re welcome. I went ahead and selected it as an accepted solution for other users who may run into the same problem.

    I got a  reply from http://forums.cnet.com/7723-32544_102-617750/acer-1825pt-no-sound-from-touchportal/?messageId=5574868&tag=nl.rCOMBINED&s_cid=rCOMBINED&ttag=rCOMBINED&ftag=#message5574868

Obviously ,one first checks the sound mixer ,which was all on Max,what caught me out and may also catch others ,is the fact that its only when you open touchportal, that Windows 7 adds a specif touchportal volume mixer, which you wont see (unless you you connected to external monitor and drag sound mixer to it),because once you open touchportal ,it occupies full screen and taskbar disappears,so no way to see or select sound mixer (at least on my 1825PT).

I use dual monitors on my Acer (with an usb video card) and safe the laptops one .It was  thanks to your advice,I learned that touchportal has its own pecific mixer only when opened!

Hope this is usefull for any other user that has same issue as me.

    Thanks again
