Hi All,

Today, My Acer S7-392-6411 cannot connect to the internet. There is a red cross on the network icon on the bottom right of the screen.

I used the "Troubleshooter" and it said "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter".

So I uninstalled the old version of the network adapater driver and installed a new one, the " Intel PROSet/Wireless Softwares" which was downloaded from Acer website. After installation, the problem remained.

Then I went to Intel website to download and install an even newer version of the driver, the ''Intel PROSet/Wireless Softwares 17.0.0". But it still did not work.

I have checked the "Device Manager", under the "Network adapters" , there is only "Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter", but nothing else.

I then used "Intel PROSet/Wireless Tools" to Diagose any problem, and in the "Hardware Test", it Fails! And the "Test summary" says "Wireless Hardware is not present".

My laptop is Windows 8 , 64bit, and I am sure that I downloaded the correct drivers.

This really drives me crazy!

Could anyone help me please?

Thank you!

UPDATE: I tried several times uninstalling and installing the Intel PROSet/Wireless driver, and it still did not help.

And when I open the "Intel PROSet/Wireless Wifi Connetion Utility", I says "A physical Wifi adapter is not installed".

Does this mean, there is something wrong with the wifi adapter itself? Maybe I have to change a new wifi adapter?
