Acer Iconia - PIN

I've searched for an answer to no avail.  We can no longer access my sons acer iconia using the 4 digit pin code that was set up.  Is there any way to reset it?  I registered a gmail account when we originally set the tablet up for him but dont see anything in the welcome email we received at the time that would help.  There is a pin hole which I thought might be a factory reset but pressing it in does not do anything.

Any help or guidance anyone has would be most appreciated.

I have e feeling that you will have to reset your device to factory settings, unfortunately, this will delete all of the info on the tablet and return it to new condition, I have attached a link you may find useful :

hi,ive had this problem before, and the only way to recover it is to factory reset is by doing a hard reset, blease note that all datta on the tablet will be wiped.factory reset by turning it off, pressing the power button and up volume button simultaneously for 5-10 seconds, then it will go into a sub boot menu, use the volume buttons to scroll up and down to factory reset, and press the power button to select it,it may ask you if your sure, same as before, use volume and power buttons, but before you sellect anything,or do this, you should plug it in,most importantly.
