Hello,

I'm trying to update my windows computer with USB drive and I get the message Verifying DMI Pool Data. I downloaded the latest bios update and after making it a bootable USB it goes to C:\> (better than before) But does not update.

Please assist.

By saying UPDATE, do you meant install Windows using the USB drive?

Before you boot the computer from the USB drive, you may change the BIOS settings. Try the below steps

Restart the computer and keep tapping the DEL to enter into the BIOS.
    Connect the USB drive.
    Select the "Boot" tab.
Select 1 as "USB drive or USB HDD".

Then press the F10 key and select "Yes" to save the changes in BIOS.

Apologies, I'm trying to update the bios message "Verifying DMI Pool Data" I downloaded the latest bios update (see screenshot) and made a bootable USB drive the bios is set to boot first USB. When I start the pc it goes to DOS " C:\> " and I cannot load any of those files below.  FYI: this is a different workstation. Thanks!

Eventhough you are trying to boot the computer from USB drive, you need to change the boot settings in the BIOS.

You may follow the steps that I have provided before and change the Boot settings in BIOS. Make sure you select USB HDD as the first boot device under Boot tab.

If the computer still does not boot from the USB drive, it might be an issue with the files on the USB drive.

Thanks for the reply, but I made sure it was selected USB HDD and still goes DOS C:\> without updating (loading the files) (not even putting the names manually) the bios.  Till stock saying up top VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA. Then jump to DOS.

Before it would show only VERIFYING DMI POOL DATA. Now at least jump and it goes to DOS C:\>

Programs after typing their name manually: WinFlash.exe, winhlp32.exe it says "this program cannot be run in DOS mode"

The files are from Acer.com bios update file

I'm kinda give up on this thing so looking for suggestion either to upgrade the motherboard or the Chip. Don't want to go

into a big project since for the money to spend I can get a new CPU.

    Suggestions.
