Hello!

I intend to get the Acer Aspire V3-772G (NX.M8UEX.008) laptop. As far as I know it has 2 HDD bays, one with a 750Gb HDD and the other one empty. I'd like to know what I have to buy in order to install a SSD in the second bay (if that is even possible).

Thanks in advance.

    Hi

You, ofcourse, have 2 HDD bays, and an extra space for msata drive. For puting an SSD to your HDD bay you'll need special HDD bracket, same that is on your 750 GB hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3AN12R4801, or you could google it out to find a better bargain, but you could improvise like a guy in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVLGfyeNPY0 (it's a v3-771, but it has the same layout like ours 772) it's important that your SSD is fixed when you install it. I instaled mine that way and everything is OK.

Would a KINGSTON SSD MSATA 120GB/SMS200S3/120G fit in the mSATA slot?

The product listed above from Newegg.com doesn't ship to Canada.

If you're Canadian you might want to try one of these instead:

    Neither of these includes screws.

    Hello.

I have similar question but in my case, I want to install the Windows 8 to the SSD partition (like was before on the HDD).

I have the original HDD with all recovery stuff and so on.

Do you know how to do that?

PS.: I could copy my partition from HDD to SSD but I want to make a clean Windows installation on the SSD with the recovery from the HDD

How to maintain that BIOS partition and so on?

    Hi,

Well I had similar situation, and here is what I did:

-I managed to get hold on a image of clean win 8.1. (You get the hint), and made a bootable win8 usb

-Write your Win 8 serial number

-Disconnect HDD and leave only SSD

    -Install win 8 from usb

-Your win 8 serial number is in UEFI, but when i installed win 8.1 I was asked for serial

-After win 8 instalation is over you can connect HDD and format it

-You should search this forum for the information in which bay is better to install SSD (something concerning SATA speeds)

-Benefit of this fresh instalation is that you can avoid installation of all the oem bloatware that came with the laptop

So this was my way, and it is working without a single problem from october 13

    Hope it helps
