I'm curious as to why Acer would send some people new restore disks, yet I can't get a replacement sent to me.  I am also under warranty.  I like how a disk (of all things) is a problem to send to a customer, when they are willing to have me send the tablet in for repair.  And if I needed a replacement disk in the future, they'll charge me for it... Interesting way to "help" your customers.

I solved this problem by installing Windows 8.1.  When I used the restoration disks, many of my drivers weren't working, and I went to http://www.acer.com/worldwide/support/ to get them.  That got the computer working, but I still had the error message.  I then updated windows 8 and installed windows 8.1.  The error message is now gone, and everything works great.

Did you get all the software back?

No, it was a full factory reset, so all my software was gone.  Fortunately, I only had a few programs, so it was pretty easy to reinstall.

I was just sure to put all my documents and pictures on a DVD-R before I started.  The biggest pain was reconstituting my iTunes playlists.
