Aspire E1-571G windows 7 freezes after cold boot

Hello,

I have this acer notebook for around 4 months and about 2 weeks ago it started doing strange things. At first it was really slow (windows and other applications not responding very often) and every cold boot the windows frozes (although it looks that everything booted well and processor looks like it has nothing to do anymore).

I have reinstalled windows (the same version - win7 64bit), i used it on my previous notebook for about 2 years without any problem). After reinstalling it works quite good in terms of speed, but the cold boot issue continues. Everytime i need to make hard reset and then boot, it will boot ok after that and works good.

I did hdd and ram check - everything ok. I did reset bios, update bios - nothing worked. Finally i put out additional 2GB of ram i inserted right after the purchase (its different speed than the original one) but still nothing.

Finally i tried another version of windows (with sp1) and formating hdd - still its the same.

Can you please help me? I think its either windows or motherboard issue. Its in warranty but i cant afford to lose notebook for one month as i have important work to do.

If this was a new purchase 4 mos ago, you should contact Acer customer service under warranty.

Did you re-install Win7 using the Acer eRecovery process?

Yes, but was the Win7 installation DVD supplied with this particular Acer model or separately purchased? Or did you download the Win7 installation image to be later activated with the Win7 product code key on the bottom of your laptop?

It's might make a difference if the Win7 copy you have came with another computer or was separately purchased. The reason is that if it came with another computer or was activated on another computer, the SNID of that computer might be tied to Win7 copy key.

Besides your friend's PC that's been working for a few years, how many other different PCs were you able to install Win7 with this particular copy?

    Thanks
