AO725 Netbook - poor youtube / netflix performance

Hey guys.  Purchased an Acer AO725-0826 netbook in November last year and I've been having some issues with it.

It has the C-70 processor, a dual-core 1.0 (apparently up to 1.3 but I never see it go to 1.3GHz).  The issue is that this thing can't even steam youtube videos at low quality and netflix videos (non-HD).  I get severe stuttering.

Is there some sort of issue with this processor architecture with regards to Flash (youtube) and Silverlight (Netflix) ?

I wasn't expecting a powerhouse computer when I bought this, but I would have thought it could AT LEAST stream the two most popular video sites on the internet without choking.

This is not normal as our AO725 netbook does not experience stuttering while streaming youtube videos or netflix. Has this been your experience since you purchased the product? If it was working fine at first then started having these symptoms you are describing, it could be related to malware/spyware or even a poor internet connection/signal.

If you feel that malware/spyware is the cause for the poor performance, I suggest reloading your operating system.

Another option is to test if you have this problem while connect to other wi-fi networks.

    Hi Ryan,

First of all, thank you for responding.  After posting my message, I continued to do some internet searches and stumbled upon someone who had experienced the same thing.  In reading his message, I quickly realized the issue; I had upgraded the video drivers but aquired them directly from AMD instead of from the pre-packaged Acer support site.  This was my mistake, and it turns out the newer drivers from AMD cause issues, the same ones I was experiencing.

At this point I decided to just do a factory reload of Windows 8 and fully update it back to 8.1 and now the issue is resolved.  I am posting this in the hopes that if someone else does a search, they'll see this and realize their mistake.  It's quite possible I could have just rolled back the driver and re-installed the Acer one, but I didn't want to take any chances.

    Thanks again!
