Cannot update BIOS on M3970

I also am trying to update my M3970 bios.

My machine bios resets back to factory settings once a week or so.

I have to set my bios settings every time.

I have tried changing the bios battery on the motherboard.

I wanted to see if a bios upgrade would fix the issue.

When I try to flash, the error message says.

"ROM size does not match..."

My current BIOS version is P02.A2

I did notice that the P02.A2 flash file is 2097 MB in size. This seems correct for a 2MB flash chip.

The P03.A3 bios is 2621 MB in size and will not fit on a 2MB flash chip.

"ROM size does not match..." confirms this. I am guessing it is corrupt.

A BIOS update will not fix the issue that you describe, as it is not a BIOS issue.

It sounds to me like your system battery (RTC) is failing.  Please contact service for assistance.

As I have already stated, I changed the RTC battery. I understand that flashing a bios was unlikely going to address my issue but at this point I have nothing to lose. You did not address the fact that the bios upgrade on your site is not valid.
