Hi,

I have a 4752-6838 and it is now not going pass the "Press F2 to setup Bios" screen from the start.

I have remove the drive, try to boot from CDRom, try to enter bios and nothing make it.

Does some one have an idea of what is going on?

Thank you

    Hi jf-gee

What exactly are you seeing on your laptop? Do you see the Acer logo or is the screen lit up, but blank?

Do you receive any error messages?

Post back with some more information, and I'll see if I can help!

    Hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

In the past the PC have, a few times in the last six month, hang when I boot/reboot the laptop and I had to press the power botton to shutdown and restart. In that situation the power button was acting as a on/off switch meaning that a simple press would shoud down the pc.

What I see is a black screen showing the ram count, the bios version (2.09), and at the buttom the "Press F2 for setup...". Not the logo of ACER. I think I'm before that.

When the computer start, what ever what key I press (including F2) I cannot enter the bios or the boot device sequence. It is not the hard drive since I have tried another HD with the same result. I also try a Windows Install CD with no luck.

    Thank you for your help

I fear you may have a motherboard issue. I was going to suggest the hard drive, but you've ruled it out.

As a final resort, you can try reinstalling Windows, but I don't think it will help....

    Hi,

Well, since the coputer don't want to boot from Window Install Disk... I cannot reinstall the PC.

What do you think of reseting the CMOS/BIOS ?

What would be the cost for requesting a verification for a laptop out of warnties ?

    Thank you

    Absolutely worth a try.

As for your out of warranty laptop, you will need to take it to your local PC store for verification.
