My Left Speaker Isn't Working

Hey guys, I'm having a big problem with my Acer Aspire 5249 laptop. The right internal speaker is normal volume, but the left one is really quiet if not silent. Any help with this?

Here's something that I think may have caused it, recently my earphones stopped working for my laptop so I looked it up and it said to just rapidly plug it in and out a couple of times. And that worked, but only recently my left speaker hasn't been working well so I think that somehow my laptop is recognising me earphones being in my laptop. This is just a thought but it seems likely.

Any help? I'd really appreciate it.

    Hi PinkBazooka!

I presume you've checked that the balance is not offset? Also, is the sound "Balanced" through headphones?

    1. The headphone jack might be partially stuck - you could try gently inserting a paperclip to see if it helps

    2. Coincidently, the speaker may have blown and will need replacing.

Thanks for the reply finlux Smiley Happy

Yeah I've checked out the balance and it's perfectly balanced for both speakers but left speaker still doesn't work.

    1. I might try that later on, have to find a paperclip first haha. Could I maybe use a toothpick? And what should I do? Just insert it in and have a little wiggle?

    2. I really hope that hasn't happened, I don't understand how it could've blown considering I didn't blare the sound or anything I just rapidly inserted earphones in and out but I do acknowledge it as a possibility. If this is the case where could I go to replace it? And what kind of price would I be looking at?

    1. Yes a toothpick will do!
    2. Sometimes things just fail. Speakers will not be too expensive, I'd take it along to your local PC store who would do it for you!
