Of course you can upgrade your Aspire 5336.

But the Aspire 5336 is already 4 years old..

In car terms an old car and it used to be a CHEAP car, so what do you want?

A Ferrari engine in a tiny Citroen?

You better buy a decent recent notebook.

You have to tell us the specs of your laptop, except graphics you can possibly upgrade others.

    Intel Celeron T3500
    Intel GMA 4500M
    2GB DDR3Memory
    320GB HDD

    Why not graphics

You can upgrade the memory to 4GB but the OS may see only 3GB, it depends on the BIOS, there's no point in upgrading the CPU( have a look at the link), you can not upgrade the graphics as it's integrated in the Motherboard.

I would suggest you to switch to SSD in place of spinner Hard drive, that will make your system more snappier.

Ethan's remark set me investigating, and I bought:
    2GB memory for €15 total now 4GB.
    A 128GB Intel SSD for €60.
    A Intel T7100 processor for €12.
    All second hand, of course..
You Tube provides elaborate instructions how to disassemble an Aspire 5336,
which is not so simple the first time.
Installing the parts is no problem, only for the processor you have to take the mainboard out.
Assembling is easy, you notice that the chinese have incorporated very clever installing aids.
The moment of truth is connecting the mains and push the knob..
Yes! it works! it recognises the upgraded processor and asks for a restart!
I installed a clean W7 and my programs on the SSD without any Acer bloatware.
And it goes like never before: 30 seconds startup time..
Thank you Ethan! indeed anything is possible!

Sure it can. I have 2 5315's both running Duo 2 Core  T-8100 cores, 3 gigs of DDR2 Ram, and WD Black 500 gig hard

drive on 1 and the same on the other one save for the drive which is a Samsung SSD 120 gig drive and they

both run at around 32/38 C all day long. Very stable.
