can Aspire 1670 be booted from USB ?

I own an Aspire 1670 notebook running windows XP : well yes, not one of the youngest models but it works still quite well.

However it's time to clean up its sofwtare installation. In preparing for such a burden I would like to know how to boot from the USB. I can access the BIOS, but there the USB is not listed among the media to boot from.

Thus the main question is whether this model natively supports booting via the USB port, and if it does is that included in the cd\dvd modality?

Thanks in advance for a reply

That would actually be "Removable Devices" for that particular model.

Just reorder the boot order to show:

     Removable Devices

     CD-ROM/DVD Drive

     Hard Drive

     Network Boot

    Thanks Acer-Tommy.

Actually my BIOS (Phoenix v.1.09) lists:

    CD-Rom/DVD Drive

    Netwoork boot

Floppy Devices (!? - there is no floppy driver equipped in)

    Hard Drive

I tried  to apply your suggestion, but no result.

Indeed I am not sure I formatted the USB pen appropriately since I do not have right at hand another PC (with USB boot enabled) to test it.

Now - however -  my question gets arranged into the following sequence:

    - asking ACER support service whether Aspire 1670 model is designed as to be booted from a USB port (1 of the 4 available) and by any (bootable) media connected to it? (unfortunately the Handbook does not give a clear statement about)

    - is my BIOS updated ? (in the download area v 1.09 looks to be the latest available).

    Thanks in advance
