A510 not detected by PC via USB

As the title says, my A510 is not detected in device manager at all via usb. The acer driver is installed but the tablet does not show up in the device list, not as a generic device or anything. It is as if it isn't even plugged in. Tried other ports and other computers all with the same results. The usb port works fine with the adapter to mount a flash drive.

Uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player (latest possible version) and also install the Microsoft MTP porting kit driver.

If this were a driver problem, it would not be doing the same thing across Windows 8, Windows XP, and Ubuntu across many computers, with different cables. Plus I already tried all the drivers. This is most certainly a problem on the tablet end.

I didn't mean to sound rude. I was just letting you guys know what I've tried, and short of hooking an oscilloscope or meter up to the pins, I have tried everything I can think of. Kind of at my wit's end with this problem sorry.

It doesn't matter how many microUSB cables you try... That's why everyone suggest checking your drivers and I suggested WMP reinstallation, I fixed the conectivity problem that way on many Windows XP systems for my Iconia B1. Blaming the USB cable itself is ancient mythology, nowadays all cables are perfectly usable.

Ok but the problem is, the device does not show up in device manager ever, it is as if it isn't even plugged in. I tried 3 separate fresh installations of Windows 8 (one fresh install for the Google drive, one for the Acer driver and one for the Windows driver) I also tried a fresh install of Ubuntu. I also tried across at least half a dozen computers. All to no avail. Am I missing something?

I should also mention I have tried with USB debugging on and off, as well as PTP mode and MTP mode/
