Model 5253-BZ893. It's very slow, whether I'm off the Internet(Windows 7 Home Edition OS) or on any of my three browsers(IE,Firefox or Torch-Chrome). I've cut down my Programs in the Control Panel and have about 50 downloaded programs. I have Avast Anti-virus, CC Cleaner and Wise Disk Cleaner, but it's slow as molasses. A techie friend says to add to my GB(I have 2) and I'll do that. Any other suggestions?

You can try adding more memory to see if that helps. It is possible the problem is not with hardware, but may be more with what is running on the system. Probably not what you want to hear, but if you backup your data and reload your operating system, it may resolve some of your issues.

I have added memory, from 3GB Ram to 6GB Ram, and it has made a little difference, but not enough to make me jum with joy. I'm constantly deleting programs from the Control Panel. I'm also checking my downloads to get rid of extraneous stuff.

Still, I'm willing to try anything...

Just out of curiosity did you ever get this to speed up? I think you said you added memory and it didn't help. This is something I went through as well. What I did was review the register cleaners and all that and I think it was in PC magazine that I found out. There is this software you can download called (ASO) Advanced System Optimizer 3 from Systweak.com or just google Advanced System Optimizer. Anyways if you do decide to download it make sure that you don't download any accompanying software you know some ask to you if want to download ASK.com etcetera? Uncheck the boxes of any software you don't want. Anyways I after buying one license discovered this stuff was software I needed on all my pc's so I think it's like $69.95 or $89.95 for five licenses. I purchased the five licenses. Anyways after you download it will start to run. But I don't think it runs doesn’t run the defrag and drivers update. I found that opening the program or running it and click the Smart PC Care option it has an icon of a nurse next to it. Checkmark all the boxes by hitting the space key and tab key to go to the next text box etcetera. Now when you run this for the first time it will take a long time because it's going to defrag the hard disk as well. This software will totally optimize your system and make it way faster. Also make sure that you go to the google and search Microsoft Fixit. Then choose the Microsoft website link and run Fixit this should run and give you a list of things to fix. Now just 2 days ago I went there and it showed that you could run Fixit on about 257 things. What I did was I went thru the list and found the one the Fixit tiled something like fix problem with Microsoft Update go ahead and run the Fixit on it DO NOT Continue to run Fixit on all 257 items that would be crazy and time consuming. By clicking /choosing Fix problem with Windows Microsoft Update. Doing so will essentially install all the patches to fix all your problems with the current version of Windows. Now all my pc's are on windows 7 home edition. But after you Fixit and choose the one titled fix problem with Microsoft Update and it runs the Fixit. STOP! and go into Microsoft Update you can find it by clicking the Windows Orb on the bottom left of the screen and display all programs if they aren't showing already after clicking on Microsoft Update. Then go into the scheduler in Microsoft Update and schedule it to run when you go to bed because if you haven't run this in a while it may take a long time. The pc at my daughter's and mother in-law’s house hadn’t been updated since early 2012 when my father in law got sick and eventually passed away. Once you do all this you will be amazed how much faster your pc will run. No I don’t work for Microsoft and I certainly don’t work for Systweak the maker of Advanced System Optimizer 3. I just have a large family and everyone thinks these pc’s all maintain themselves. Well now with ASO and the Microsoft Update Scheduler life has become a little more pleasant. Good Luck. Oh and one other thing when ASO starts to run wait about 5 minutes after the first time you run it because it will ask you do you want to allow this program to make changes to hard disk? Answer yes then it will do its thing. After you run it the first time and then schedule it to run automatically it will do that for you. Oh and don’t worry about the driver Updating either they have it down. Every driver it has installed on 5 pc that I have I haven’t had one that driver that was downloaded that caused a problem plus ASO also backup you’re all drivers before installing the new ones and also creates restore points automatically. However anyone out there that is reading this one of the biggest secrets that pc manufactures don't want people to l now is that adding memory usually speeds up a pc quite a bit. I have found too always do the Microsoft Update first. Second add Memory and third since it cost $$ the do the Advanced System Optimizer 3 and make sure that you check for update on ASO3 after installing it there is a tab for that as well in it.
