Acer Aspire V3 772G screen issue
Hi all,
I have a V3-772G laptop with:
i5-4200m
geforce GT 750m
14Gb Ram
samsung 120gb SSD
500gb Hdd
Because i disliked windows 8 i removed it andinstalled windows 7 65bit Ultimate, i used all the (win 8 64b) drivers provided on the acer site and got everyting working, except:
My maximum resolution is 1600x900, the specs say my laptop is full HD and supports 1080. I tried installing drivers from the manufacterors (ie intel, nvidea) without any succes.
I also tried to make a custom resolution using the intel software (1920x1080 60hz 32bit) but i get an error that i have insuffcient bandwith.
I had contact with acer helpdesk and they told me win 7 is not supported so, but i could try a bio update, which i did, but didnt help.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to get my laptop to full HD? (except re-install win8)
Thanks in advance

hi...
As per Microsoft for 17.3" LCD screen windows 7 the Recommended resolution (in pixels) supported by windows 7 for 17-inch widescreen laptop screen is 1680 × 1050, and for windows 8 is 1920 x 1080 pixels.Without restoring windows 8, the best option is to install Media player Codec pack that supports almost every compression and file type used by modern video and audio files. Thank you very much for you reply Sharanji!
I am confused though, my LCD-screen doesnt support a resolution of 1080, why do they sell it as a full HD laptop, complete with a sticker saying 1080 resolution.
Is there an option to get my windows laptopscreen to a resolution of 1690x1050? 1600x900 is the maximum i can select.
Thanks for your help.

Your monitor is 1080 capable, it's just that windows doesn't allow that setting. Windows 8 does.
You could try powerstrip which allows you to set custom res.
