[PROBLEM] Liquid E2 Duo - fails to connect the 3G data signal after turning off WIFI

Hi All,

I've noticed that sometimes after I switch off WIFI connectivity the phone fails to connect to the 3G data signal.

Mobile Data is set to ON and there is good coverage.

I've tried turing Mobile Data off and on again - this makes no difference.

To solve this I have to reboot the phone, at which point when it comes back up, it immediatly connects to the 3G Mobile Data.

Android: 4.2.1

Build Number: Acer_AV061_V370_1.018.00_WW_GEN1

Anyone else seen this?

Thanks, A

i have the same exact problem no data after turning off wifi. Also turning airplane mode on then off brings 3g or H back instead of rebooting. Either way this is annoying and should not happen. I have a full signal in my house and its the first phone that has done this.

    Hi,

Last weekend my 3G connection suddenly stopped working too. I do not remeberer what I was doing with it right before it happened. I tried to disable and enable the 3G connection, checked all the internet settings but nothing worked. Until i read about it on the Dutch Tele2 forum. Someone suggested to disbale and re-enable the airplane mode. This simple trick worked for me. No need to reboot. I guess there's a bug in Android? I have an Acer Liquid E2 Duo with Android 4.2.2.

This problem seems to have disappeared for me since the latest update (to 1.032 GEN1 FOTA). See here for some info for the update - http://community.acer.com/t5/Smartphones/Acer-E2-DUO-DUAL-SIM-1-032-GEN1-FOTA-update/m-p/197787/highlight/false#M2056

However, I swapped the SIM card that I use for 3G data at the same time, and I don't know if it could have been related to that instead.

Has anyone else noticed the same?

This problem has not disapppeared : I experiment it every day !!!

Is there another solution than rebooting or turning on and off the Airplane function (Jet) ?

Since my previous message, I found an application on Play Store called "Switch réseau" which makes it possible to jump from WIFI to 3G just by a click.

In fact this app is a simple widget on the screen.

The only problem is that it does not enable to switch between 2G and 3G/Wifi, only between Wifi and 3G, but this problem can be overcome by switching off the 3G or Wifi signal with the help of the upper banner.

With this widget I got a fast and successfull connection to Wifi or 3G when I could not otherwise get it.So at least...

It would be great if Acer could check this problem on the Acer Liquid E2 which is otherwise such a superb device. Smiley Happy

Sorry to intervene once more on the subject :

There is another Widget called "Active/Désactive le 2G,3G,4G" which is also doing perfectly the job for those who want to switch from 2G to 3G and exceptionally use WIFI.

This Widget associated to the previous one ("Switch réseau") gives all the possibilities directly on the screen and with just one click Smiley Very Happy
