OK, is there any activity with the hard drive LED? Can you here any sound from the speakers (Windows startup)?

The symptoms you describe are usually associated with a power supply problem, or worse, a motherboard problem. Firstly, see if you can borrow a different power supply - just to rule it out. If the problems persist, then it will likely be the mobo.

Also remove the power cable, press & hold the power button for 40 seconds, plug back in and reboot. Also try to reboot WITHOUT anything attached.

If it still doesn't start, then you will need to see if your local PC store can help.

hard drivee led flashes on and off a few times and goes out, just like the blue power light. No beeps, drive just keeps turning.

If there are no motherboard beeps (and there WAS previously), plus there is little or no hard drive activity, then it will have a motherboard issue.

It seems less likely that the power supply has failed, although it is still worth swapping out, just to confirm.

If your PC is still under warranty, contact Acer support for your region, however if it is out of warranty, then visit your local PC store.

Apparently this is quite an issue with these AX3400G-U4802's. I have one and my daughter has one and they both are doing the same thing. What's the problem with them? As as many people as I see on the internet with the same issue I'm sure ACER knows what the problem is. Just tell us.

    That's frustrating.

It may be a faulty batch of motherboards causing this problem. As I mentioned earlier, contact support if your PC is still under warranty.

They're not under warranty. That's why I'm browsing around looking for the answer as to what needs replaced.

Try firstly a new power supply, that is a quick and easy option to swap out. If it makes no difference, it is likely to be yhe motherboard.
