    Good day

All Acer Images come preactivated. If you used your own Windows 7 starter disc, then you must use the Product Key that came with that disc.

Yes I used acer eRecovery, and thats the factory restore on the netbook, so what now?

The Windows 7 Starter product key you typed is invalid for activation
Buy a new product key online
    Type a different product key
Contact Acer to help resolve this problem

    All my options.

    Good day

The only time the OS will ask for activation is if:

    1. Used DSP and not OEM discs

    2. If you used recovery discs not compatible with that model netbook

Rather take the machine with discs to Acer repair centre..

We want to enable the community to support itself without Acer having to intervene. Freeza has provided with all of the correct information, and there is not much for me to add.

The OEM copy of Windows that comes preinstalled does not require you to add or validate your copy of Windows and that remains true during a reinstall from Acer RCDs or the recovery partition.

You may want to try Microsofts Validation Website if you're continuing to have trouble. I suggest we give the community time to review the request and provide help if it's available or we also provide an out of warranty support option in the form of Answers by Acer. Additionally, recovery media is available at our Online Store

Microsoft techs and validation people informed me that the Acer Aspire one d250 serial that comes pre installed in ALL d250's like mine, has been set as inactive on microsoft's servers by Acer, because the serial had been leaked, they then informed me of the fact that they would supply with a new windows 7 key if i could send them a copy of the COA on bottom of laptop that was worn out, and so I did and now am all good thanks to Microsoft, no thanks to Acer.
