Back to the r7-571 widi

Ok. The r7 is advertised as widi capable. I know the broadcom card is not. So i happened to have an intel advanced n6235 or two sitting around and popped one in. The wireless works fine. The bluetooth doesn't even show up in device manager. And no widi capability. Allthough the intel widi check utility says no upgrades needed. But it says the same thing with the broadcom installed. I cannot find anything showing a difference in the pci-e hardware between cards. Just talk about some oem's bios possible being whitelisted for certain manufacturers. But in that case the intel shouldn't work at all. Any ideas? Even if it was a difference in interface, i would purchase another card. But the 6235 is a solid card i've been using awhile now, just doesn't make sense to half work in this laptop. And i would not know what other card would work better anyway. Thanks.

Ok. Ive heard of people losing widi connectability after upgrading to windows 8.1. So i have reinstalled back to windows 8, put my intel advanced n-6235 back in, upgraded drivers, and installed the windows 8 widi application. Running that app, i know have widi connection to my netgear ptv3000, and my screen is finally connected wirelessly on my 42 inch tv. So it for once and for all definetly is possible on an acer r7-571 with windows 8.

Hi, the wifi card has to be wiDi capable not the computer mate, does your n6235 intel card is wiDi capable? if yes you would need an extra device to make it recognized/recignize a compatible device that is wiDi capable.

Display adapter, n6235 WiFi adapter, processor, all supposedly widi capable. Yet all these things brought together on laptop and still no widi. Computer shows no option to connect a wireless display.
