Hello, I have a 1 month 2 week old, from time of purchace, Acer V3 731-4634 laptop.  The wireless adapter AR5BWB222 stopped working yesterday with Code 10  The device cannot start.  I have uninstalled, repaired and reinstalled the drivers from Acer.  I also went to Atheros site and tried drivers from them.  Any suggestions on fixing this problem would be grately appreciated.

Thanks

    Welcome aboard, Jamatan.

Code 10 usually refers to a hardware clash. It can be caused by having a USB device running or even connected when you try to go on wireless. It can actually be caused by having a disk in your optical drive.

Usually, the cure involves updating the drivers on other hardware, in addition to your wireless hardware. On another forum, one fellow fouled up after installing the latest Microsoft drivers instead of the latest manufacturer's drivers. Also, an automatic Windows Update could have fouled you up.

First, check to see what you were doing different when  your problem began. Had you installed any new hardware or software? If it still doesn't work, try using System Restore to go back to the time before you had the problem.

Thanks for the reply/advice.  Nothing new was added, no CD's are in the drive.  I did try a system restore, good idea, to no avail.  I contacted Acer and have a case number to return the laptop for repair.  I think the hardware went south...

    Thanks
