Touchscreen Acer T232HL

Hey Guys,

I bought this monitor as a floor model from Best Buy a number of weeks ago. The other day I attempted to move the monitor and some how the very top of the screen got a small 1 maybe 2 inch crack in the screen. The LCD it self was not affected so there is no problem with the visible screen however, that tiny part of the touch screen continually activates as if you are touching it. Does anyone know if there is any way to disable this small portion of the screen from activating? It would seem to me that within the drivers this would or should be fairly simple to do as it is in a very out of the way spot that I as of yet have never even used with the touch screen and it would seem that the drivers should allow for "deadening" that area. Is this at all possible? If not, does anyone know if this can actually be fixed? Perhaps just have the glass replaced? I didn't pay that much for the monitor so I don't know if it is even work fixing. Other then the touch screen now being broken, as a monitor, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the monitor to be used as just a 23 in non-touchscreen, so not all is lost.

I was just hoping that there may be a way to disable that portion of the screen so that I can still use the touchscreen.

Thanks in advance!

There is no option to disable a portion of the screen. It's a hardware issue that has to be repaired.

Thanks for the reply, do you or anyone else happen to know about how much a repair such as this or where even I could get this fixed?

    Thanks!
