Hi...about a month ago message appeared " consider replacing your battery " since then has been working correctly until today I switched on and screen very very dark can barely make out anything.
Have tried discharging excess charge , re-inserting ram neither made any difference
Have tried to access bios but screen to dark to try changing anything
I figure obviously I need to buy a new battery put before I do just wondered if that is gonna be the problem solver ??
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi Aceracer!

It sounds as if the backlight has problems. It has either failed or perhaps the component (or cable) that powers it has! Try using an external screen to see if it works OK on that.

With regards to the battery, the message you had may have been coincidental. Is it any different when you use the power supply? If it works OK then it may well be a battery problem (although, a battery problem would usually mean the laptop would not work at all!)

The best solution, would be to take it to your local PC store, to see if they can advise further!

Hi..thanks for the reply....the screen is the same with the battery power supply plugged in , I will look into the backlight problem , don't fancy the expensive visit to a PC store ! Not much choice of stores where I live !
    Thanks

Hi...just tried the laptop with a monitor and all works ok so I think it must be the invertor , just removed it to see if I can fix myself and it was no problem so just ordered a new 1 , think I should get a ew battery too, fingers crossed this solves the problem
    Thanks
