Acer Iconia A1 810 will not turn on after installing updates for the first time

i recently purchased an iconia A1 810 tablet. i was reminded by an update message that important updates were needed to install to better improve the performance of the tablet. i install the first update successfully, but when i was installing the second update the tablet just turned off and it will not turn on. i want to say that i charged the tablet for 4 hours as was suggested in the users manual before turning it on for the first time. also, i left the ac adapter plugged into the tablet to the wall during the updates as was suggested before installing the updates. i want to ask others if this a common problem occurrence with the A1 810 tablet or is it that i just have a defective product. your comments and suggestions are welcomed.

thank you.

    hi...

You may perform a hardware reset, insert a suitable tool into hardware reset pin hole , such as a paperclip, to reset the tablet to its default settings. This will not affect any data on your computer.

The hardware reset pin hole is located between the Micro HDMI port and Microphone.

    Hi,

I had a similar problem  3 months ago, which occurred 4 days after purchase. No reset options recommended by Acer suppport worked and the tablet was returned for repair. It susequently was returned and suffered TWO more failures, one a failure to boot and then a camera and external sound problem and further Acer repairs. I insisted on a new replacement, which has just arrived and appears to be working properly. I am afraid I was not very impressed with the support I received and eventually resolved the matter using Acer UK complaints.[edited to comply with guidelines]

    Good Luck

hello and thank you Sharanji and phimor. i appreciate your time to give a response. i did a hard reset and the tablet turned on, but after thinking about it and reading what phimor said, i decided to return the product as defective to be replaced with a new one. this is not my first time using an acer product. i have been using acer products since 1994. my first desktop was an acer with a 1GB hard drive. wow, can you imagine how far technology has come since then. from there i moved to an acer laptop then to an acer netbook and now to an acer tablet. you both have a nice day or evening.

    thank you.
