Acer Aspire V7-482PG-6662 Touch Screen Problems

Hi everyone,

I've just purchased an Aspire V7 recently but there seems to be an issue with the touchscreen. Every so often it'll register a touch on the touchscreen when I am nowhere near the point it touched. It'll be fine for a while after I restart it, but after a while it starts going crazy again.

I was wondering if there was a way to disable the touchscreen or anything I could do to try and fix the problem? I've looked inside the control panel and there doesn't seem to have an option for me to turn off the touchscreen in the pen and touch settings.

Thanks

Gunchoz, you have a low-cost, high-powered ultrabook that had to cut costs somewhere in order to provide you with such a low price. However, there are some posible solutions to your problem.

    1) MAYBE you have "Pen and Touch" in Control Panel, and MAYBE it has a setting titled "Use finger for an input device." If so, deselect it.

    2) Go into Device Manger and find a device entitled "Root Interface," and disable it.

    3) Go into Device Manager and find "Human Interface Devices." Disable them one by one until you find out which one disables your touchscreen.

    4) In Control Panel, go to Windows Update and see if you can update your touchscreen drivers.

    5) See if you can download newer drivers from the Acer site.

I have the exact same problem. My laptop arrived 3 days ago.

Did updating the drivers help you? Or did you return it? I'm thinking about just returning my laptop and going with a different brand in the future. It's a shame, because I loved the laptop while it worked.

I have an Aspire V7-482PG-6629 with the same problem. The display registers all sorts of clicks even when I'm not touching it.

I've already updated the drivers. It's too late for me to return it. Turning off the touch display is giving up too much.

What do I do? I bought it 6 weeks ago, so it should still be under warranty.

Just today I bought this notebook. After 30 min of work I noticed that bottom right part of the screen is heating. Is it suppost to be heating or I have to check it?

    Thank you in advance
