I had the same problem a couple of days ago.  I was using a D-SUB cord to connect my monitor to the PC.  Because I have a graphics card on my PC, I switched the D-SUB cord for the correct DVI cord, and it worked immediately.  Maybe check the connections on the back of your PC and see what other cord you might need instead.  Hope this helps!

^-- agreed. Normally I'd need some more info (is it brand new or have you had it for a while, or has there been and significant changes to your computer or your setup, etc.), but most likely it's either a lose or bad cable. Make sure each end is properly plugged in and tight (both into the monitor and into the back of your computer). Otherwise, please supply more information - type of computer, type of acer monitor, etc...

I have a similar issue with my Acer monitor. Once in a while for no apparent reasons the monitor will not recognize my computer. I hear the computer initialize but the screen remains black. I unplug everything and plug it back and usually it will fix the problem and work for weeks and the next day, boom, it won't work again. My wires don't seem to be damaged and it is very annoying. Any tips?

...again, supply as much info as possible - type of computer, model of monitor, how old it is, etc. - if you really want some tech support. It's like as if you're taking your car to a mechanic and saying that it won't start - well, what is its year, make, model, trim, engine, etc.
