Hi all, I upgraded the OS to windows 8.1 the first moment it became available on the 17th. However, one thing I found was the Nvidia GT 720M driver became missing after the upgrade. Can anyone shed some light on how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance. My notebook model is: V7 582PG 6421

    Hi shutterfly!

Here is the driver for the Geforce 720m graphics card. Click the "Start Search" button, scroll down & click "GeForce 327.23 Driver WHQL"

    Hope this helps!

    Hi, thanks for the reply!

I downloaded the driver and launched it--- Only to find out the system complains "The Nvidia hardware is not found"

I checked system devices in control panel, and it only shows the intel 4400 hardware, and a excalmation mark under 3D Accelrator.

It looked the Nvidia Geforce 720M is gone!

    Any ideas?

  • This is a long standing problem. Normally you cannot use drivers direct from nVidia because they do not cater for dual graphics. The nVidia hardware will appear not to be present. nVidia did release one version that overcame the problem but they seem to have reverted. Until they get it right, you must use the Acer driver or modify the nVidia loader yourself (which is not straight forward). Fortunately, Acer have released an update. Go to the download site and you will find it in the Win 8.1 section.
