I have another question : I read that some computer passwords were stored on an EEPROM, which can not be erased by removing the battery. are you sure that my laptop is not equipped with this memory?

  • It is unlikely that you can reset your BIOS password by clearing the CMOS.

While I have no experience with your particular model, passwords no longer tend to be stored in volatile memory - too easy to circumvent.

It is more common now to write them to EEPROM which cannot be cleared by battery removal.

This is certainly the case with the V3-471G and I suspect it will likely be true with your model.

Your best solution may be to contact Acer support in your area.
