so ive got a acer predator neo 16 ai and ive only bought it like a week ago and i was just using it when suddenly the nvidia gsync logo appeared on the side of the screen and the screen just went completely blank so i assumed i must have opened a game by mistake but then the fan kinda went loud and then quiet a couple of times and then just stayed that way. the keyboard was still turned on but nothing else was working so i tried to turn it off and on again with the power button and when it restarted it the predator logo appeared and at the bottom it gave me the "your computer ran into a problem and needs to restart" and then it turned off on its own and restarted again and then i was able to log back in. this is a brand new laptop so it shouldn't be doing this. has anyone else ran into a similar issue and should i be worried?

    Hi zeel,

If you can boot into Windows normally:

    1. Open Windows Terminal (Admin)
    2. Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth(Allow up to 30 minutes for this to finish)
    3. sfc /scannow
      • Repeat SFC until it reports “…did not find any integrity violations.”

    If Windows won’t start:

    • Power on and press F8 or hold Shift + F8 (on some models) or interrupt boot three times to trigger Advanced Startup
    • Navigate to: Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart → Safe Mode with Command Prompt
    • Once the black Command Prompt window appears, run the same DISM and SFC commands above

If the crash recurs after these scans come back clean, move on to BIOS/EC updates and driver checks while you’re still under warranty.

Start with a force restart by holding the power button for 10 seconds, then turning the laptop back on. If the screen stays blank, try connecting to an external display to check if the issue is with the laptop screen. Next, attempt to boot into Safe Mode by pressing F8 or Shift + F8 during startup, then selecting Safe Mode with Networking from the recovery options. Once in Windows, run Windows Update from the Settings menu to install any available updates. If the problem persists, reach out to Acer Support via their official website to check warranty status or request service.
