Acer Aspire 3 Laptop Battery Bad After Only 14 Months

Hello,

I am wanting to ask in this forum today what I can do about my Acer Aspire 3 laptop. Because, after only 14 months of ownership, and after me using it only maybe 20 times in the last year, the battery is starting to substantially decline. I'm talking about 30+% battery drain in the span of an hour kind of bad. I got this laptop to be a supplement in case my desktop didn't work which is why I haven't used it very much, but now I'm not sure what to do. Since I have not used this device in a while, so I don't know what's wrong with it or why the battery is draining so quickly. And unfortunately, the warranty ran out back in late May, so I can't simply use that, but it's likely the issue developed around that time.

What should I do in this scenario? Is there an outcome where I don't have to purchase a replacement battery?

    Hi Itadam,

Acer’s standard battery warranty is 1 year, so yours has already expired. To get a clearer picture of the battery’s condition, please post a Windows battery report and tag @Puraw so they can review it.

You can generate the report by:

    1. Pressing Windows + X and selecting Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
    2. powercfg /batteryreport /output %USERPROFILE%\Desktop\battery-report.html
    3. Press Enter – the report will be saved to your Desktop.

Attach that HTML file here, and Puraw can advise on the next steps.
