I have acer aspire laptop, model A716-76G and I am facing this issue for quite a while now. Sometimes my laptop doesn't open after shutdown even after doing all possible tries. I tried to reset battery from the pin hole given at the back of the laptop but nothing happened. It's the second time I am facing this issue, I shutdown my computer and was out of town for 1 day and when I came back and tried to open it, but it shows nothing. Battery is full, already done with resetting and all but no changes. First time I faced this issue I left my laptop idle for some 6 to 7 hours and tried again, it opened and now again i am facing this issue. Is my battery dead or is this a problem with any internal part. Please help me with this.

    Hi @ramanrawat22 👋

Your Aspire A716-76G may be affected by a firmware-level power state bug. Please follow these steps to resolve it:

🔧 Update BIOS to Version 1.56 (2025/07/24) This version includes fixes for post-shutdown boot issues.📥 Download BIOS 1.56 from Acer

⚠️ Use the official Windows-based installer. Do not interrupt the process.

⚙️ Disable Fast Startup in Windows This feature can cause boot inconsistencies after shutdown.Steps:

    1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do
    2. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
    3. Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended)
    4. Save changes and reboot

💡 Run In-place Recovery via Windows Update This repairs system files without data loss.Guide: Microsoft’s official recovery method: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-issues-by-reinstalling-the-current-version-of-windows-497ac6da-7cac-4641-82a5-f50398d879a0

Let us know if the issue persists after these steps. If it does, we can check EC firmware or battery controller logs next.
