I've connected a DVD player to HDMI 2 on my XZ320Q monitor but the monitor will not detect the player. HDMI 1 works fine. I've swapped out the HDMI cable.

Is there some special order to add a new device to the monitor?

Subject: XZ320Q HDMI ports — input only, no passthrough

    Hi DS256,

Thanks for your post. Just to clarify: the Acer XZ320Q monitor’s HDMI ports are input-only. It doesn’t support HDMI passthrough or device chaining. So if you’re connecting a DVD player directly to HDMI 2, the monitor should display the signal—but only if the DVD player outputs a compatible resolution and refresh rate.

    🧪 Try These Steps:

    • Use HDMI 1: Some monitors prioritize HDMI 1 for full handshake compatibility.
    • Power sequence matters: Turn on the DVD player before powering on the monitor.
    • Check DVD output settings: If your player has resolution options, set it to 720p or 1080p at 60Hz.
    • No HDMI passthrough: You can’t route signals from one HDMI port to another on this monitor.

If HDMI 1 works and HDMI 2 doesn’t, it may be a port-specific limitation or handshake sensitivity. Let us know what model your DVD player is—some older units output at 480i or 576p, which this monitor might not accept.

    Hope that helps!
