Is faint fan noise between 2000 and 2080 RPM normal after cleaning on Acer Nitro AN515-58-50CS?

Hi,
Just to clarify first: on August 3rd, 2025, I cleaned the fans externally using a soft brush. They were completely clogged with dust. I didn’t disassemble anything or move the fans too much—just external cleaning—because the device is still under warranty by the brand (not the seller), and I understand that this kind of cleaning doesn’t void the warranty, right? Also, I installed a 1TB NVMe M.2 NV3 SSD back in June.

Now, after finishing the cleaning on that Sunday and turning the laptop back on, I noticed that after around 30 to 40 minutes of light use, a faint noise starts coming from the fans. This sound can only be heard when there's complete silence—it's not loud, just noticeable when everything else is quiet.

Is it normal for the fans to sound like this after being cleaned?
I don’t remember hearing this kind of noise before cleaning them.

I’m sharing a link to an audio recording (I had to put the phone right next to the keyboard to capture the sound), and also a video where you can hear the noise coming from the fans.

The noise only happens slightly during light tasks like web browsing, calls, or anything non-demanding. It completely goes away when the fan speed drops to around 1700–1800 RPM or when running heavier tasks.

Also, I’m from Argentina, in case that’s relevant.
This noise only appears when the fan speed is between 2000 and 2080 RPM—not below or above that range.

I really hope someone takes the time to read what I wrote and listen to the two audio clips I shared.Thank you in advance to anyone who replies!

    Hi Midxri,

Thanks for the detailed write-up and audio clips—very helpful. Based on your description, the faint noise between 2000–2080 RPM is likely caused by a worn fan motor bearing. This kind of issue is common after 2–3 years of use, especially if dust buildup stressed the motor over time. Cleaning externally doesn’t void warranty, but bearing wear is mechanical and not covered unless the fan fails entirely.

🛠️ Good news: Nitro V fans are cheap and easy to replace. It’s a 10–30 minute DIY job if you're comfortable with basic disassembly.

⚠️ Important: If you ever decide to clean or replace the fans internally, always disconnect the battery first. This prevents accidental shorting or EC misbehavior, especially on Nitro models where the embedded controller can freeze or misread power states if disturbed while powered.

    Hope this helps!

Cleaning the fans, vents of your V Nitro laptop model does not void the warranty, but what is probably happening to your laptop is that one of the fans shaft bearing is faulty and with prolonged use, its only going to get worse and will need replacing. As your Nitro V laptop is new, I would suggest that you get Acer Tech Support in Argentina to change the Nitro V (whatever model it is) to change that fan for a new one, as this should not be happening top a new laptop. Contact Acer and get this repaired now while your V15 or V16 is under warranty. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Below are the cpu/gpu fans for the Nitro V15 ANV15-51 model laptop (to see what you model is, look underneath the laptop as there is a sticker there for what your Nitro V model is.

The Acer Nitro V laptop, model AN515-58-50CS, was purchased 10 months ago, and this only happened after I carefully cleaned the fans externally.

Yes, a laptop fan speed between 2000 and 2080 RPM is generally normal, especially during tasks that require the laptop to work harder. This speed indicates the fan is actively cooling the system, which is essential for preventing overheating.
    Elaboration:-
    Normal Operation:
Laptop fans increase their speed to regulate temperature when the CPU or GPU is under load, like during gaming or video editing.
    2000-2080 RPM Range:
This range is within the typical operating speeds for many laptop fans.
    Potential for Noise:
While normal, this speed might be noticeable as a fan whirring, especially if the laptop's cooling system isn't well-insulated.
    Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
If the noise is excessive or constant, especially when the laptop is idle, it could indicate a problem like dust accumulation or a failing fan
