I'm upgrading the wifi card in my Acer Nitro 5, AN515-55. When I use an Intel ax201 card, all is OK. However, when using and Intel ax210, the internet connection is fine, but Bluetooth doesn't work, or show up in Device Manager. I've tried different ax210 cards, and the problem still exists. I downloaded the most recent drivers, and tried the online fix-its, still no luck. I'm stumped! I still use the ax210, but don't like using a usb Bluetooth device.

    Hi birdman330,

Your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 works fine with the Intel AX201 card because it uses CNVi, Intel’s proprietary interface that your motherboard supports. But the AX210 is a PCIe-based card that requires USB routing for Bluetooth—and that’s where the problem lies.

    ❌ Why AX210 Bluetooth Doesn’t Work

    • The AX210’s Bluetooth controller is separate from its Wi-Fi chip and needs a USB connection to function.
    • Your Nitro 5’s M.2 slot does not route USB, so Windows can’t detect the Bluetooth hardware at all.
    • That’s why Bluetooth doesn’t show up in Device Manager, even with correct drivers.

    ✅ Compatible Wi-Fi + Bluetooth Cards

These cards are confirmed to work with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your model:

    • Intel AX201 – Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.1 (CNVi, fully supported)
    • Intel 9560 – Wi-Fi 5 + Bluetooth 5.0 (CNVi)
    • Intel AX200 – Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.1 (PCIe + USB; may work if USB routing is present, but not guaranteed)

For full compatibility, stick with CNVi cards like AX201. If you want to upgrade Wi-Fi without losing Bluetooth, AX210 isn’t the right fit for this laptop.

The intel AX210 is NOT compatible with your Nitro AN515-55 laptop, that is why its BT driver doesn't work in your AN515-55 laptop, so don't upgrade to it! ONLY use the oem Acer fitted WLAN version 6 NOT the 6E or 7 cards (see caption below).

Use the oem drivers that Acer has as that is why the BT doesn't work with the AX210 card'. I have the same problem to this day with the BT in the Nitro AN515-56 with its oem Acer fitted Killer AX1650i card, where its BT only works with the initial 2021 Intel version 20.40.0.2 BT driver that Acer provided and doesn't work with any other BT driver from intel, to this day. So keep your AN515-55 with components that Acer fitted to the laptop, as they will work 100% and you will have no problems. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

These are your Nitro 5 AN515-55 oem WLAN/BT cards that you should ONLY use and/or replace and use their Acer oem WLAN and BT drivers, which are the Intel AX201, AX200

Thank you for the info. I had a feeling that was the case. the ax201 works well, so that's what I will use.
