my old Acer Aspire 7750G needs a modern driver. I have W10 installed and on the blade connectors to the battery I measure following Voltage : Total amount of blades : 8

  1. plus blade : 0,5 V
  2. 2th plus blade : 0,5 V
  3. 0 V
  4. 3,3 V
  5. 3,31V
  6. 3,31V
  7. 0 V
  8. - blade (ground)

Adapter 19V is plugged in

I thing Windows10 blocks the powersupply due of the wrong driver??????

Via Device manegement and Battery : I can read : Microsoft AC -adapter

and Microsoft Surface ACPI-Complaint Control Method Battery

I think I need a better driver I already visited HlepDrivers site but was not succesfull.

Does somebody knows a solution…………………………

I suggest that you only use genuine Acer oem battery and adapters that Acer lists for the Aspire 7750G below, do not buy and fit copy replacement parts for this old laptop, as that is what will give you problems with these old batteries if they are not a genuine listed and recommended Acer product. Buy and use ONLY the below listed parts for the Aspire 7750G laptop, as its from its service guide.

The HelpDrivers site is the most comprehensive source for drivers for these old laptops to what I've experienced, if they don't have the driver that you want, then it will be very hard for you to get it, as Acer has stopped all support for the Aspire 7750G laptops a long time ago. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

    Hi @Hart595 ,

Welcome to the English forum! A few quick notes to help clarify your situation:

    🔌 Connector Terminology

It’s best to avoid calling the battery connector a “blade.” That term usually refers to internal power rails or blade-style server connectors. For your external slide-in battery, the correct term is 8-pin battery connector or simply battery terminals. This helps avoid confusion, especially when discussing voltages or troubleshooting.

    🔋 Battery Age & Compatibility

Your Aspire 7750G is over a decade old, so any battery you find today will likely be:

    • Refurbished (new cells in old casing)
    • Aftermarket (non-OEM, third-party build)
    • New old stock (rare and risky)

Drivers won’t fix degraded cells or mismatched firmware. Windows 10 uses generic ACPI battery drivers, and Acer hasn’t released newer battery-specific drivers for this model.

    🧭 Trusted European Vendors

If you're considering a replacement, here are a few reliable European sources:

    4400mAh or 6600mAh

    UK-based, Samsung/Panasonic cells, CE/UL certified

    🧪 What You Can Try

    • Check battery part number: Look for AS10D71, AS10D81, etc.
    • Inspect connector wear: Corrosion or looseness can cause voltage misreads
    • BIOS update: Ensure latest BIOS is installed for proper EC communication (the Help site that you mentioned)
    • Battery registration in BIOS Full discharge/recharge cycle may help reset readings in BIOS and MS ACPI battery protocol

Let us know your battery’s part number and whether it’s aftermarket or refurbished—that’ll help narrow things down. If you’re seeing only 0.5V on the first two pins and 3.3V on others, it could be a communication issue with the EC, not a driver fault.
