Hey guys, just today I encountered an issue with my acer k242hyl hbi monitor.

Both monitor was in sleep mode when I wake up, went to use my PC as usual. When I moved my mouse I found the acer monitor lits up, after a matters of second it froze and slowly dim down. Here's a video of what happens when I reopen the monitor/reconnect video source/resync the monitor.

Does anyone know what might be the issue here? Is it worth fixing or might aswell just dump it?

Its probably your HDMI adapter or whatever way you have connected these two Acer K242HYL monitors to your computer with, what are the specs of your desktop and what adapter are you using, as that is where the problem is. Also, connect only the monitor that is dimming to your computer and see if its screen dims down like that, as if it does, then its the monitor that has a power fault or a backlight screen fault. Do that and let us know. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Or look at the K242HYL SG for a solution

Hey, thank you for answering my question.

I didn't use any adapter for connecting monitors, I use hdmi cable to direct connect to the acer monitor.

As for the spec of my pc, I am using a Asus x99-pro motherboard with Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4 CPU, paired with 64Gigs of ddr4 2400mhz RAM. The GPU is a Sapphire RTX3070 with 2 DisplayPort and 2 HDMI, so both connection is a direct connection between PC and monitor.

The monitor that's working on the left side is a ViewSonic omni VX2418-P FHD using DisplayPort to connect directly from the GPU.

I've tried only connecting the acer monitor with different ports and different hdmi cables but the problem still persists. I suppose the problem here is the LCD screen.
