I just bought a acer PM151QT portable touch monitor and thought that it was great that I have a touch monitor. However, seems I've been duped. I plugged it in to my HDMI and USB-C and the touch isn't working.

My Acer VivoBook (TM420UA) is running Windows 11. And before someone says that HDMI doesn't support touch, I say "so what?" There's a USB-C cable connected to the monitor that is very capable of transmitting and receiving data. There is nothing on the box that says it is a requirement.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

    • Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start Menu).
    • Expand Human Interface Devices.
    • Locate the touch screen device (it might be listed as "HID-compliant touch screen" or similar).
    • Update the driver: Right-click the device and select "Update driver." Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
    • Roll back the driver: If you suspect a recent driver update caused the issue, you can try rolling back to a previous version. Right-click the device, go to "Properties," then the "Driver" tab, and click "Roll Back Driver" if available.
    • Disable and re-enable: In Device Manager, you can also try disabling the touch screen device and then re-enabling it

Thanks Jack. Unfortunately I've already tried these options without success. :(

    1. Check for Monitor Driver Updates: Visit the manufacturer's website for your Visual Beat 15.6 monitor to see if there are any specific drivers or firmware updates available for Windows 11.
    2. Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully updated. Microsoft frequently releases updates that can fix and improve hardware compatibility.
    3. USB-C Driver Update: Check for updates for your USB-C port drivers. These might be listed under the chipset drivers on your computer manufacturer's website.
    4. Power Settings: Adjust the USB settings in the Power Options to prevent Windows from turning off the device to save power.
      • Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options.
      • Click on "Change plan settings" next to your selected plan.
      • Click on "Change advanced power settings".
      • Expand the "USB settings" and then the "USB selective suspend setting".
      • Set it to "Disabled" and click "OK".
