Hi guys!

First of all, english is not my first language, sorry for any mistakes.
My Nitro's fans are kinda crazy right now. The slider on nitro sense doesn't have any effect on their speed, instead, they are simply not working. From time to time, they turn on for some seconds and turn off. Does anyone had this problem? Can somebody give any tips?

Hi Vicezz, Thanks for the clear description — and no worries, your English is great. This issue with NitroSense fan control is actually quite common on Nitro models like the ANV15-51.

    🔧 Quick Tip:

NitroSense may not respond properly if:

    • Your battery is below 50%
    • Or the power adapter is not connected

Acer limits full fan control when running on battery to conserve power. Try plugging in the adapter and charging the battery above 50%, then launch NitroSense again.

Also check your BIOS if that is the latest version 1.26 dated 2025/04/17 and update Windows11 24H2

If the issue persists even when plugged in, let me know.

Hi! Thank you for the quick reply.

The problem happens with the power adapter connected and 100% battery.
My Windows 11 is the 24H2 version but BIOS is v1.26 with date 2025/03/21.
    Could that be the problem?

I will tinkering with windows update and saw that some Acer Incorporated Drivers were updated, don't know if that could be the reason as well.

    Hi Vicezz,

Since you're already on BIOS v1.26 and Windows 11 24H2, and the fans still behave erratically even when plugged in with a full battery, here are a few deeper checks you can try:

🔧 Advanced Troubleshooting for NitroSense Fan Issues

    1. Check Acer System Interface Driver Go to Device Manager → System Devices and look for “Acer System Interface” or “ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller”. If this was recently updated via Windows Update, it might be causing NitroSense to miscommunicate with the EC (Embedded Controller).
      • Try rolling back the driver if possible.
      • Alternatively, reinstall the latest Acer-provided version manually from the Acer support site.
    2. Reset EC Firmware (Embedded Controller) This can help if the fan logic is stuck:
      • Shut down the laptop completely.
      • Unplug the power adapter.
      • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
      • Plug the adapter back in and boot normally.
    3. Check NitroSense Service
      • Open Task Manager → Services tab.
      • Look for “NitroSenseService” and ensure it’s running.
      • If not, reinstall NitroSense from Acer’s site and reboot.
    4. Fan Test via BIOS or Third-Party Tools
      • Some Nitro models allow fan diagnostics in BIOS (though limited).
      • You can also try HWiNFO64 to monitor fan RPMs and sensor behavior. If fans show 0 RPM consistently, it’s likely a control issue, not hardware failure.

Let me know if you want help checking driver versions or if you notice any patterns (e.g. fans only spin during boot or under heavy load). You're not alone — this issue pops up often on newer Nitro models, and we’re happy to help troubleshoot it with you. 😊

Does choosing the max option make the fans spin up?

Please remember to include @AnhEZ28 when you want to reply back to my comment so that I can check your response.
Thank you and have a nice day!

@AnhEZ28 it did not. NitroSense would show 0 rpm.

@Puraw i used the option within Windows to "correct problems using Windows Update" yesterday before i went to bed and is working fine now. I think you are right, it's a control issue. I will try the solutions that you gave if it happens again.

    Thank you guys!

Edit 1: i hit the post comment button, fans stopped but started again after 10 secs lol
