Hey all readers,

I hope someone can help me with this cause im losing my hope about it ( since i dont want to spend that much money )

The problem is i have a Acer Aspire 7750G where the backlight of it isnt working, and this laptop has no inverter since its a LED screen, so ive testen a external screen with multiple inputs (HDMI - VGA) and on the external its working perfect. But the laptop screen it self doesnt light up, when i hold a light to it i can see my desktop. And today ive changed my screen and still no luck it doesnt light up.

Hope someone can helps me out

I only use my Laptop at my desk, so to avoid over-charging the battery, I run it with the battery removed.

About a year ago, I was using the laptop when there was a momentary (<1 second) power failure, and the computer shut down instantly.

When I re-booted the laptop, everything worked except the LED backlight.   The LCD panel had an image on it, but without a backlight I couldn't use it.  I plugged in an external monitor, keyboard and mouse and continued to use the laptop with the lid shut.   I tried to find a way of turning the backlight back on, but couldn't find a solution.

About 3 months ago, I lifted the lid and was surprised to find that the backlight had started working again.  Surprised, I unplugged the monitor and keyboard and have had no problems... until tonight.

There was another momentary power failure, and my backlight has failed again.

I have no idea what 'fixed' it last time, and would rather not wait for months for some random Windows upgrade to correct the problem again (that's my best guess as to what might have repaired it last time)

Does anyone out there have any ideas?

    Robin.

Hi. Did you have backlight in BIOS? or at start-up? Did you tried to remove the BIOS battery (it is under the back cover, between the two sets of RAM slots) for 10-20 seconds (with the charger and the Li-Io Battery both removed before that)? Be carefull, if you do that you must restore settings in BIOS (date, time, boot order, AHCI or not for HDD....etc).
