my acer v15 battery is not detected it was just working fine and it works only when plugged in , this issue came after I was working on my laptop while charging and electricity got cut off , I dont think its hardware issue cause it was working just fine as well as when I plug in for few seconds the battery led lights up and turns off again. Now laptop works on only plug in..Based on this what do u think is the problem , I don't think the battery or hardware is damaged cause when I do turn on after reset the battery gets recognized for few second showing 0% charge and charging but disappears again , I think its something related to battery force lock or something these are my my findings or assumption, how do I fix it ?3

Hi EnTs03, Please run a battery report to help check for battery disconnects or early dropouts: Paste this into Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport Open the report with your Edge browser, press Ctrl + P or right-click and choose “Print to Microsoft PDF”, then attach the PDF to your reply. Type Puraw or use Quote when replying so I’ll get notified.

Also let us know if the issue happens while unplugged, or only at idle, and we can take it from there

Run a battery report to help check if the battery disconnects or if it has early dropouts, do the report and then use the browsers Print > as PDF and then include the battery report as an attachment to your community post, so we can have a look at it and advise you what is going on with your Nitro V15. Btw, these laptops are renowned for Battey charging issues and the laptop turning off in high end gaming as their adapters power is inadequate and the battery drops out, hence the laptop crashes. Give us the battery report for further information. Good luck.

Note: if the battery is locked then the battery mainboard soldered fuse has blown and the battery need to be resoldered and unlocked by a technician and the full problem has to be analysed of why this fuse has blown, you need a tech that has a battery analyser that can reset the battery, so that this problem can be fixed, as buying a new battery the same thing will happen.

"By the way, this issue occurred after I was working on my laptop with charging everything was normal and fine, but the electricity went out and my laptop instantly turned off too. I can run my laptop on plugged in the but no battery is detected, I dont think there is driver issue too, and after battery reset like holding power button , the battery led light gets turned for few seconds and gets turned off as well as after I turn on laptop fast instantly ,battery icons at taskbar gets displayed with zero and charging for few 20 to 30 seconds and disappear again."

Hi, check if there is a small pinhole in the back of your laptop (with a battery sign), stick a pin in that hole till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin for a few seconds. This will reset the battery. If no pinhole try this:

Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black under the battery) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- terminals inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds after that remove the RAM modules, insert another spare RAM if you have or just replace the modules firmly in the RAM slots, reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

🧠 Possible Battery Lock Scenario – EC Handshake Failure Based on the timeline—normal charging, sudden power cut, then battery briefly visible—it’s likely the EC (Embedded Controller) failed to complete its handshake with the battery’s BMS (Battery Management System). This can cause the battery to appear “force-locked” or ghosted.

    🔍 Why It Happens:

    • Sudden power loss during charging can interrupt voltage negotiation between charger, EC, and battery.
    • If the EC doesn’t register a clean disconnect, it may suspend the battery interface entirely until a reset is forced.
    • This handshake misfire is more common in USB-C or multipath charging systems, but it can happen on barrel jack setups too—especially if the battery wasn’t removed during servicing.

    🔁 How It Presents:

    • Battery icon appears briefly at boot with 0% charge, then disappears.
    • LED flickers during power-up but doesn’t stay lit.
    • Battery report may show incomplete charging events or abrupt dropouts.

🔋 Battery Report Inconclusive – Likely Smart Chip Lock

The battery briefly appears post-boot, but shows no stable charge cycles and disappears again. At [X] years old, the pack is beyond its ideal lifespan, and EC resets didn’t restore communication.

This strongly suggests the Smart chip (BMS controller) has entered a locked state and is no longer responding to handshake requests from the EC. Sudden power loss during charging could’ve triggered it.

🛠️ Next Step Justification:Replacing the battery is justified at this point. A fresh unit with a healthy BMS should force the EC to reinitialize power mapping correctly—assuming the board and EC are functioning normally.

📎 Be sure to match the pack model and part number exactly. If a replacement shows identical behavior, it may point to a board-level fault.
