Hi cdouglas_Red54, It sounds like you're trying to install apps in the way you'd expect on an Android device — like downloading the “Google Browser” or YouTubeTV as standalone apps. On Windows laptops like your Aspire 3, these platforms usually work best through your browser instead of being installed separately.

    • You can access YouTubeTV here directly in your browser
    • And if you're looking to install Google Chrome (often called “Google Browser”), you can download it safely from google.com/chrome

Just curious — is there a specific reason you prefer the Google browser? Microsoft Edge is already built into Windows and tends to be better integrated with system tools and firewall rules, so it might save you some trouble with app access and compatibility. Worth a try!

The Acer Aspire 3 15 might be in Windows S mode, which only allows apps from the Microsoft Store, preventing direct downloads of Chrome or YouTube TV. To fix this, you'll need to switch out of S mode.
Here's how to resolve the issue:-

    1. Check for S mode:
Look for a message indicating your PC is in Windows S mode. If you see this, you'll need to switch out of it.
    2. Switch out of S mode:
Go to the Microsoft Store, search for "Switch out of S mode," and follow the instructions to disable it.
    3. Install Chrome and YouTube TV:
Once you've disabled S mode, you should be able to download Google Chrome and YouTube TV like any other application.
If you're still having trouble after switching out of S mode:
Restart your computer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve installation issues, according to Google Help.
Check your internet connection: Make sure you have a stable internet connection for downloading files.
Free up disk space: If your hard drive is full, you might not be able to install new applications.
Disable antivirus temporarily: Some antivirus software can interfere with installations, advises Google Help.
Reinstall Chrome: If Chrome is already installed, try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
