Hey, just checking if anyone can help with this issue.

Basically I got this laptop less than a year ago, and I'm having issues with it freezing while running. Literally in the middle of the most mundane tasks, not even gaming. To start it again, I have to hold down the power key but then it goes into a weird mode. The keyboard switches on and off while the fans kick in at the same time as the keyboard flashes but nothing happens. It's like trying to start a car that splutters. It does that for ages until the keyboard stays lit but the screen remains black. The only way is to keep the power button pressed down until everything switches off and trying again. This cycle happens more and more often and sometimes it can take up to 30 minutes before it starts again. And when it does, the fans are on full power and don't switch off.
Customer support got me to do a bunch of things like running a system scan and reversing updates, but nothing seems to help. They are suggesting doing a factory reset. The product is still under warranty and honestly I've lost all faith with it so I'm not sure what to do.
Has anyone ever had this issue?
I'd appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks

If the Acer Nitro V16 is having trouble booting up, a few common issues and troubleshooting steps can be tried. These include hard resets, running startup repair, checking power and battery connections, and potentially updating or reinstalling the graphics driver. If the problem persists, it may be a hardware issue requiring professional diagnosis.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:-

    1. Hard Reset:
What it does: A hard reset clears residual power and can resolve many boot issues.
    How to do it:
    Turn off the laptop completely.
Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
If the battery is removable, remove it.
Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain any remaining power.
Reconnect the power adapter (and battery if removed) and try turning the laptop on.

    2. Startup Repair:
What it does: Windows includes a built-in tool to automatically repair startup problems.
    How to access it:
Turn the laptop off by holding the power button.
Turn it on, then immediately hold the power button again to force a shutdown.
Repeat this process two more times to trigger Windows Automatic Repair.
Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.

    3. Safe Mode:
    What it does:
Boots Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services, which can help isolate the problem.
    How to access it:
Follow the same steps as accessing Startup Repair.
Instead of Startup Repair, choose Advanced Options > Startup Settings and press Restart.
Press F5 or 5 to enter Safe Mode with Networking.
    4. Check Power and Battery:
    What to do:
Ensure the power adapter is properly connected and functioning.
Try a different power adapter if available.
If the laptop has a removable battery, try booting without the battery.

    5. Graphics Driver Issues:
    What to do:
If the laptop boots to a black screen or displays other graphical issues, try uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver in Safe Mode.
Use a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode to completely remove the driver before reinstalling it, according to a Reddit thread.
    6. BIOS Access and Settings:

    What to do:
If you need to access the BIOS settings, try repeatedly pressing F2 (or the appropriate key for your Acer model, according to an Acer Community thread and a YouTube video) immediately after powering on the laptop.
In the BIOS, you can check for boot order settings and other relevant configurations.
You might also need to disable Secure Boot, as mentioned in a Microsoft Community thread.
    7. Consider a Factory Reset (if other methods fail):
What it does: This will restore the laptop to its factory settings, potentially resolving software-related issues.

    Welcome @MSB25,

Check that the firmware on your Nitro V16 is updated with the latest version.

Check the health of your storage drives (SSD) using the CrystalDiskInfo tool. And also the integrity of the file system (chkdsk).
