First off, thanks for putting out a slim laptop with replaceable/upgradable RAM.

I see that 64GB is the listed maximum, but can/do/will 48 & 64GB CUDIMMs work in this laptop for a theoretical maximum system RAM of 96-128GB? 64GB total is already pretty nice, but RAM is still somewhat cheap and 128GB in a laptop sounds pretty decent.

Theoretically you can add a 48GB DDR5-6400MT/s to your PHN16S-71-99BR 64GB or similar models in the AI range, if this laptop has a 1x 64 DDR-6400MT/s module, as these laptops only have 2x ram slots for memory, as mixing ram capacities is allowable with the 262 pin DDR5 SODIMM type ram, but remember that if the 48GB ram is of different speed then the ram will always run at the lowest DDR5 ram speeds, so if you add a 48GB DDR5 module make sure that its the same specs as the Acer fitted oem 1x 64GB DDR5-6400MT/s CL32 type ram.

The PHN16S-71 can work with up to a theoretical max ram capacity of 256GB, as its Intel Core™ Ultra 9 Processor Model 275HX and all the cpu's in that range are designed to work with a max memory capacity of 256GB and memory speed of up to DDR5-6400MT/s CL32 in dual channel mode and non ECC type ram. There are 262 pin DDR5 SODIMM kits of 96GB and 128GB kits from Crucial (which is a Micron ram) and from from other manufacturers, so do your research.

But before you consider upgrading the ram,. make sure that you first update your PHN16S-71 to run on the only bios version 1.05 that Acer has (as the oem laptop might have a previous ram) and you have the Win-11 version 24H2 and all its updates to OS build: 26100.4484, as that is essential.

Just as further information, I don't know if its relevant to the new DDR5-6400MT/s ram, as there is a post on the previous models Predator Helios 3D 15 Gaming Laptop SpatialLabs which is model PH3D15-71-99B2 that a community member has updated his memory to 96GB @ DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 and has written a review about his laptop that could be informative to you, see his review here, but his ram at 96GB with that laptop was only running at 4800MT/s speed instead of 5600MT/s speed, so be aware of these factors also. Good luck and hope all this is informative to you.

So I asked this question on the Best Buy product page, and the official TeamAcer account replied:

"The motherboard is specified to support 64GB, it won't recognize any additional RAM beyond that limit."

The ram is determined by the cpu memory designed specs and what the Acer bios limitation are limiting the ram speed and/or capacity if they do at all for the PHN16S-71 AI gaming model laptop? These laptops have the Core Ultra 9 cpu's that Intel's designed ram capacity for these cpu's are at a max 256GB at DDR5-6400mT/s type ram. To be 100% certain you need to get a technical document of the bios and a guarantee from TeamAcer that the PHN16S-71 can only run at max 64GB DDR5-6400MT/s type ram to be certain, if you need to use this laptop for editing and business where more than 64GB ram is needed or you will have to wait for what users of the PHN16S-71 model laptop if they have installed more than 64GB capacity ram results are, as quoted specs mean nothing.

Just as an example, in my 2023, 2 years old design Predator Helios Neo PHN16-71-50JG model with the i5-13500HX cpu Acer quotes in its "Official Service Guide" that it "Supports maximum memory size -32GB" at "Supports memory size per socket -16GB" and "Supports DIMM Speed - 4800MT/s" and Acer doesn't even quote the value of the exact CL ram type, which is DDR5-4800MT/s CL40, so figure that out? As I've upgraded my laptop to 64GB at 2x 32GB DDR5-4800MT/s CL40 and the 64GB upgraded ram works perfectly, no BSODs, no crashes and its been working perfectly for 3 months so far,

Also, and like I've given a link to an Acer community member above, that has upgraded his SpecialLab PH3D15-71-99B2 that has the same 13th Gen cpu (i9-13900HX model) as in my PHN16-71 model, and in his SpecialLab (that Acer also limits this laptop to 32GB) and he is running 96GB ram at 2x 48GB DDR5-5600MT CL46 type modules, so figure that out (yes, his 5600 speed ram runs at 4800 speed at 96GB capacity) as this could happen with the higher limits of the ram in this new PH16S-71 AI models, as I would take more of an advice from user on the web that have done these sorts of upgrades (if you want more than 64GB memory for your editing for work) more than what you get on such a new laptop like the PHN16S-71 from one source, unless Acer official Tech Support warns that the PHN16S-71 model does not work with more ram than 64GB at 2x 32GB DDR5-6400MT/s in its 2x memory slots. Good luck anyway and hope this helps you out to solve this memory issue.

The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI is confirmed to support up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, but there is no official information confirming support for high-density 48GB or 64GB CUDIMMs for a theoretical maximum beyond 64GB. While the system supports 64GB of RAM, it doesn't explicitly state that it can handle high-density CUDIMMs for a total exceeding that amount.

    Elaboration:
    Maximum RAM Capacity:
The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S AI is designed to support a maximum of 64GB of DDR5 RAM.
    CUDIMM Support:
While the laptop does have two RAM slots, there's no official confirmation that it can handle high-density CUDIMMs, which would allow for a theoretical maximum beyond 64GB.
    User Experience:
Acer Community forum users have inquired about the possibility of exceeding the 64GB limit with high-density modules, but there's no conclusive answer.
    Potential for Testing:
The most reliable way to determine if the laptop can handle higher densities would be to test it with such modules or consult a reliable third-party source that has verified this configuration.
